Though I had backup in Dropbox, and can access FTP this is a worrying point as I cant access WordPress admin site using wp-admin link. Everything shows as 500 Internal server error. After a quick search over internet, could clearly see a solution that is apt for resolution.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cause<\/span>: While updating one of the plugins, this issue has occurred.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Resolution<\/span>: Link <a href=\"http:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span><\/a> for reference. Follow any of method 1 or 2, (I have used method 1 for resolution)<\/p>\n<p>1. Use phpMyAdmin to deactivate all plugins. Login to your site Control Panel, Access WordPress site database using any tool or through Control panel itself. Update the file as mentioned below,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the table wp_options, under the <i>option_name<\/i> column (field) find the <i>active_plugins<\/i> row<\/li>\n<li>Change the <i>option_value<\/i> field to: <b>a:0:{}<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-618 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/active-plugins.png\" alt=\"active plugins\" width=\"1032\" height=\"37\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/active-plugins.png 1032w, http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/active-plugins-300x11.png 300w, http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/active-plugins-768x28.png 768w, http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/active-plugins-1024x37.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1032px) 100vw, 1032px\" \/><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Or<\/p>\n<p>2. Reset your plugins folder via <a title=\"FTP Clients\" href=\"http:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/FTP_Clients\">FTP<\/a> or the file manager provided in your host&#8217;s control panel. This method preserves plugin options but requires plugins be manually reactivated.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Via FTP or your host&#8217;s file manager, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)<\/li>\n<li>Via FTP or your host&#8217;s file manager, rename the folder &#8220;plugins&#8221; to &#8220;plugins.hold&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Login to your WordPress administration plugins page (\/wp-admin\/plugins.php) &#8211; this will disable any plugin that is &#8220;missing&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Via FTP or your host&#8217;s file manager, rename &#8220;plugins.hold&#8221; back to &#8220;plugins&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Internal Server Error in WordPress appears in your blog page while trying to access any of the blog content or while accessing wp-admin page.
