Recently while working for a customer assignment, I had to Install Tivoli Directory Server v6.3 on Redhat Linux machine. There was no UI enabled for installation of LDAP and I had to manually create everything through commands. During Installation of GSKit, we do have installp command in AIX and in Linux we use rpm command.<\/p>\n<p>IBM Technote link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www-01.ibm.com\/support\/docview.wss?uid=swg21631460\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www-01.ibm.com\/support\/docview.wss?uid=swg21631460<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Below information taken from above technote link and is specific to Linux OS only,<\/p>\n<p>Make sure that the installation process takes place through Root user.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Download the required GSKit V8 file for Linux x86_64 platform from IBM Fix Central. The name of the file will be of the form: 8.r.m.f-TIV-GSKIT-LinuxX64-FPnnnn.tar.gz<br \/>\nNote: r.m.f are release, maintenance and fix level of GSKit V8 and nnnn is the fix level.<br \/>\n==&gt; cd &lt;path_where_gskit_tar.gz_file_is_kept&gt;<br \/>\n==&gt; gunzip -c 8*-TIV-GSKIT-LinuxX64-*.tar.gz | tar -xf &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> The contents of the folder 8.r.m.f-TIV-GSKIT-LinuxX64-FPnnnn :<br \/>\n==&gt; cd 8.r.m.f-TIV-GSKIT-LinuxX64-FPnnnn # Use the correct name as per your download.<br \/>\n==&gt; ls -1R<\/p>\n<p>For example with 8.0.14.14 level of GSKit:<br \/>\n==&gt; ls -1R<br \/>\n32\/<br \/>\n64\/<\/p>\n<p>.\/32:<br \/>\ngskcrypt32-8.0.14.14.linux.x86.rpm<br \/>\ngskssl32-8.0.14.14.linux.x86.rpm<\/p>\n<p>.\/64:<br \/>\ngskcrypt64-8.0.14.14.linux.x86_64.rpm<br \/>\ngskssl64-8.0.14.14.linux.x86_64.rpm<\/p>\n<p>Description of the files:<\/p>\n<p>For TDS 32 bit Client components:<br \/>\nGlobal Security Kit V8.r.m.f for linux x86 32 bit Crypto &#8211; gskcrypt32-8.r.m.f.linux.x86.rpm<br \/>\nGlobal Security Kit V8.r.m.f for linux x86 32 bit SSL &#8211; gskssl32-8.r.m.f.linux.x86.rpm<\/p>\n<p>For TDS 64 bit Client components:<br \/>\nGlobal Security Kit V8.r.m.f for Linux x86_64 64 bit Crypto &#8211; gskcrypt64-8.r.m.f.linux.x86_64.rpm<br \/>\nGlobal Security Kit V8.r.m.f for Linux x86_64 64 bit SSL &#8211; gskssl64-8.r.m.f.linux.x86_64.rpm<\/p>\n<p>Note: r.m.f are release, maintenance and fix level of GSKit V8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Install the packages:<\/p>\n<p>For 32 bit GSKit: (From the 32 subfolder where you can see the listing of gskssl32 and gskcrypt32 rpms)<br \/>\n==&gt; cd 8*-TIV-GSKIT-LinuxX64-*\/32<\/p>\n<p>==&gt; rpm -Uhv gskcrypt32-8*.rpm<br \/>\n==&gt; rpm -Uhv gskssl32-8*.rpm<\/p>\n<p>For 64 bit GSKit: (From the 64 subfolder where you can see the listing of gskssl64 and gskcrypt64 rpms)<br \/>\n==&gt; cd 8*-TIV-GSKIT-LinuxX64-*\/64<\/p>\n<p>==&gt; rpm -Uhv gskcrypt64-8*.rpm<br \/>\n==&gt; rpm -Uhv gskssl64-8*.rpm<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> Verify the installed rpm levels:<\/p>\n<p>==&gt; rpm -qa | egrep &#8220;gskcrypt32|gskssl32|gskcrypt64|gskssl64&#8221;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-667 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/gskit6.png\" alt=\"GSKit Installation on Linux for TDS LDAP\" width=\"687\" height=\"82\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/gskit6.png 687w, http:\/\/www.middlewareprimer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/gskit6-300x36.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GSKit Installation on Linux for TDS LDAP are listed below.
