SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out exception pops up during Syncnode command. Customer was trying to perform a synchronization between websphere application server node and deployment manager using Syncnode command and is facing problems with error mentioned below,

[SOAPException: faultCode=SOAP-ENV:Client; msg=Read timed out;
targetException=java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out]
at org.apache.soap.transport.http.SOAPHTTPConnection.send

Current used version is Websphere Application Server v7. There could be N number of reasons and while troubleshooting I found that there is time difference between deployment manager and was node and also some of the packets were dropped at network end where there was a connection issue.

While troubleshooting I came across the WAS link and could see 7 points mentioned for resolution.
