IBM Websphere Datapower Date and Time Issue

IBM Websphere Datapower has a Data and time issue after moving the VM from ESX host to another.

We have recently copied a Datapower appliance VM from one host to another. After the movement, we started the Datapower with changes in network and everything came up perfectly. We could also see the applications in UP state and also MPGs were also up and running without any problem. HTTP Front side handler Op-State shows down. But while accessing the applications, we are receiving certificate related issues. Below is the error message which we were getting for Crypto Certificate.

down – File is not yet valid

Though we were seeing this error in Crypto Profile, we validated the certificate expiry date, and we infact deleted and up loaded the private certs again. But still we were facing the issue where Crypto certificate state shows as down. We tried to debug at all places and finally we moved to VM level.

Resolution: After copying the VM, the new updated VM took the appliance start date which was in fact older than the certificate date. Current date and time was 6 months old and not configured to today’s date. We changed the date to current days date and then after an appliance level restart, all the certs were coming up and everything was sorted out.
